June 18-20 Summer Camp

ARTIST FOCUS: Shantell Martin is a British-born philosopher, visual artist and cultural facilitator best known for her large-scale, black-and-white drawings. She performs many of her drawings for a live audience.Martin's art explores themes like storytelling, identity, and play. Renowned for her distinctive style and meditative approach to art, Martin is not only a creator but also a mentor, teaching others to find their unique artistic paths and advocating for the benefits of creativity in enhancing mental health and personal growth. CAMP DETAILS June 18-20  TWTh  9am-12pm 

The Playful Space Studio: 2024 20th Street, Bakersfield, CA 93301

Small Group: 6-8 campers

This 3 day series is curated for ages 10-15 who want to walk away with a fun, playful art experience, new connections, and art skills.

We will be focusing on the work of Shantell Martin exploring the world of doodling, contour lines, and drawing. Our projects will be large in scale and collaborative. Our camps create a safe environment for practicing social emotional intelligence and building confidence to be accessed in all areas of your child's life.

Camp includes all art materials and snack, please bring a water bottle.
