Random Acts of Bravery: ArtMix 2023

Something special happened last night…

I submitted my art to Art Mix at the Bakersfield Museum of Art, which for me was a huge act of bravery. I tell ya vulnerability is a super power ⚡️ but it can be scary! I released any expectation of it selling & just basked in the fun of it all with my gal pals…

Then something magical happened: Someone connected with my art & loved it enough to find a place for it in their home…

AND it gets better! I got lucky enough to meet her & express my gratitude! It’s tough to put into words what this felt like, such a rush of emotions! 

I am learning that my creative practice is all about exercising reckless optimism, cannonballing in, & just embracing the messiness of life. This particular piece “The ExplorHER” is dedicated to self-discovery & encouraging our daughters that it’s safe to look within.
